Farmers Market

This weekend was the kickoff to the Farmers Market and it was a SENSEsation! There were carts and booths lining the streets as far as the eye could see. They were filled with crafters selling all kinds of art, bakers selling all kinds of treats and farmers selling great produce. The smell of warm bread and fresh popped kettle corn on 25th street made my stomach growl. Besides all the art and food, there was entertainment as well. My kids were able to pet farm animals at the petting zoo and watch a tree climber. When we arrived the first thing we heard was the loud clomping of horses running and guns going off. The wild west shoot out performances were wonderful. The kids enjoyed the free, bumpy train ride. While there we picked up some great priced cherries that had been picked the night before. They tasted so good! (I will be posting what we did with those cherries in the food sections later today. Mmmm!)

If you haven't gone already I would really recommend you make the Farmers Market part of your summer and go at least once. Each week the Market has a new theme with different presentations, displays, and activities. Here are the upcoming ones. July 16th; Health Fair, July 23; Home Improvement Day, July 30; Bring your Pet Day, August 6; Recreational & Leisure Day; August 13; Home Improvement Day, August 20; The Wonders of Nature, August 27; Cars, Cars, Cars, September 3; Healthy Lifestyle, September 10; Fireman's Memorial.

So put on a good pair of comfortable walking shoes, leave the stroller at home and grab the backpack carrier, don't forget the sunblock and water and get out 'n about.
