Day 80-86: Tea Party, Sandbox, Contraption, Blocks, Yard Bowling, Gardening and Flash Cards
Day 80: Do you have some stuffed animal friends who haven't had a tea party in a while. Why not give them a drink. Dress up, pull out your favorite play dish set and have a tea party with those thirsty animals.
Day 81: My son has a little toy called "My Sandbox". It is a bit messy but he loves it. Do you have an area in the yard where your child can play in the sand? If they are claiming to be bored why not let them grab some buckets and a shovel or some toy cars and play in the sand. If you are brave and it is too hot outside get a big roasting pan and fill it with sand. Let them build sand castles and play with their toy cars in the sand.
Day 82: Build a contraption today. That is all I can say about that because each child will come up with their own idea and what it does.
Day 83: Play with blocks. Do you have a box full of blocks like I do that just sit in a corner? Dump them out on the floor and see what you can make. Sometimes it is even fun to have a parent join you in making your block creations.
Day 84: Bowling is a fun game that can be recreated in many ways. Go outside and set up some tin cans or bottles and then use whatever ball you have to try to knock them down. You can also do this inside with a soft foam ball.
Day 85: Gardening usually requires some parental help but both my kids have their own garden. They check on it ever day. Let them plant what they would like and they can water it ever day and collect whatever fruit or vegetable they get. Even thought it is close to the end of the summer, gardening can be done inside or even outside, in warmer climates, during the winter.
Day 86: Hopefully this suggestion won't have the kids moaning, "that's boring" but let the kids quiz each other with flash cards. This can keep them sharp during the summer. Let them use a timer to see how many math equations they can complete in a minute.
